Konsultant i trener w dziedzinie zarządzania w ochronie zdrowia i innowacyjnych zamówień publicznych, starszy wykładowca w Zakładzie Polityki Zdrowotnej i Zarządzania Instytutu Zdrowia Publicznego Wydziału Nauk o Zdrowiu Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego Collegium Medicum.
Członek zarządu European Health Management Association (EHMA). Koordynator w Polsce projektu MULTI-ACT: A Collective Research Impact Framework and multi-variate models to foster the true engagement of actors and stakeholders in Health Research and Innovation. Zajmuje się zarządzaniem strategicznym, procesami przekształceń, restrukturyzacji i oceną zakładów opieki zdrowotnej, rynkiem prywatnej opieki zdrowotnej, innowacjami oraz badaniami w zakresie zarządzania opieką zdrowotną. Ekspert oceniający w Sixth Framework Programme i programu Horyzont 2020. Autor publikacji w prasie naukowej i popularnej, książek, a także ekspertyz na temat zarządzania w ochronie zdrowia i innowacyjnych zamówień publicznych. Członek Management Committee – COST Action CA15222 “European Network for cost containment and improved quality of health care”, Alternate Member – COST Action TD1405 European Network for the Joint Evaluation of Connected Health Technologies (ENJECT).
W przeszłości autor i kierownik programów badawczych i konsultingowych finansowanych przez Bank Światowy, PHARE, TEMPUS, Harvard & Jagiellonian Consortium for Health, Leonardo da Vinci, Komisję Europejską oraz programów krajowych o charakterze szkoleniowym i doradczym. M.in.:
M.Sc. Ph.D., a lecturer and researcher at the Institute of Public Health, Jagiellonian University Medical College (IPH JU MC), lecturing at the MA and post graduate studies (general management, healthcare management, marketing). He is also the president of the Transition Countries Network affiliated at EHMA (European Health Management Association) and the EHMA Board Member.
He represents Poland in two COST actions “European Network for the Joint Evaluation of Connected Health Technology” and “European Network for cost containment and improved quality of health care”. He is also an evaluator at the European Commission of the proposals submitted in the Horizon 2020 programme.
In the past Marcin Kautsch participated as a lecturer, a project author and a project leader in many training, research and consultancy programmes (international and national ones) including, among others: the Harvard & Jagiellonian Consortium for Health, a joint venture between Harvard School of Public Health and IPH JU MC, the “LEPHIE: Leaders for European Public Health project”, led by the Maastricht University, the Leonardo da Vinci DELTAH Project (Developing European Leadership Through Action-learning in Healthcare).
He was the project coordinator (Poland) of the projects co-funded by European Commission: “EPP e-Health – transforming the market for eHealth solutions through dialogue and innovation procurement”, “EcoQUIP – Improving the efficiency, quality and sustainability of healthcare through innovation procurement”, the LCB Healthcare project, dealing with innovative procurement in healthcare, “RES-Hospitals: Towards zero carbon hospitals with renewable energy systems”.
He was an expert in the projects such as: Building and Implementing strategic Roadmaps of demand-side Policy Measures to boost Demand for industrial Innovations (ENERGY-4-HEALTH), Coordinated energy-related PPIs actions for cities (CEPPI), Towards Sustainable Zero Carbon Transport through Innovation Procurement (TRANS-FORM), actions co-funded by the European Commission.
Marcin also participated and led other all-Poland projects financed by the World Bank, TEMPUS, PHARE, USAID and the European Commission. He represented Poland in the COST Action IS0903 “Enhancing the Role of Medicine in the Management of European Health Systems – Implications for Control, Innovation and User Voice” and the co-chair in the VOICE Working Group of that action.
He has extensive research experience and is an editor and an author of healthcare management books. He also worked as a consultant and a facilitator for a number of health care units and local authorities in the field of public health and health care management, innovations and public procurement.
