11-th of June 2022   On 20-th of May 2022 in Gdansk, a conference titled “War in Ukraine and Public Health” was held in a hybrid mode, i.e. on-site and on-line. The conference was organized by the Gdansk Medical University and ASPHER (Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region). The session entitled “Impact of war on public health” was chaired by Prof. Iwona Kowalska-Bobko and Dr Tomasz Bochenek of the Institute of Public Health FHS JU MC. The event was a part of this year’s European Public Health Week, as well as Gdansk Health Days. The conference speakers, as well as participants of discussions and a workshop, have constituted a large international group. In addition to the representatives of Polish academic centers and self-governmental authorities of Gdansk, the conference brought together public health and health care professionals from Ukraine (Lutsk, Ostroh, Lviv, Kyiv), France, Germany, Moldova, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Lebanon and Canada.
