05-th of April 2024     At the beginning of this year,  the agreement on cooperation in the area of science, teaching, and culture was signed between the Jagiellonian University – Collegium Medicum and the Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv. It is planned to put a special emphasis on topics related to public health and medical emergency services. On the Ukrainian side, the direct partners in this cooperation are institutes dealing with public health and preventive medicine, as well as emergency medicine and tactical medicine. On the Polish side, the contact persons in matters of cooperation are Dr. Tomasz Bochenek and Dr. Tomasz Sanak.

The Kyiv university has almost 200 years of history and currently teaches students in many study directions related to health sciences and medical sciences, including Public Health, Diagnostic and Treatment Technologies, Management, Dentistry, Medicine, Medical Psychology, Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy, Therapy and Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics.

On March 13, 2024, the representatives of the Institute of Public Health, FHS, Jagiellonian University Medical College – Dr. habil. Magdalena Kozela, Dr. Iwona Bielska, and Dr. Tomasz Bochenek took part in the international scientific conference titled “Ecological and Hygienic Problems of Human Life Activity Sphere”, organized by the Bogomolets National Medical University. There was presented research on the epidemiology of circulatory diseases in Poland, the use of emergency medicine services in Poland and Canada, and areas of possible further cooperation between the academic centers in Krakow and Kyiv. On April 5, 2024, we had the opportunity to participate in a scientific conference organized in connection with the World Health Day 2024 by the university in Kyiv, in cooperation with the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, during which Dr. Bielska also presented the results of her research.
