The fourth edition of the international master degree studies EUROPUBHEALTH+ programme
06-th of August 2019. Thanks to receiving a grant from the European Union’s Agency EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), the project of international master degree studies EUROPUBHEALTH+ “European Master in Public Health” will be continued at the Institute of Public Health of the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, for five consecutive years. This is already the fourth edition of the programme lasting for 13 years and the participation of the best candidates from all over the world is possible thanks to the European Union funds under the Erasmus+ programme (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees). Also the selected Polish students, for whom EUROPUBHEALTH+ classes are an integral part of the second year of their Master’s studies in the field of public health, can take advantage of the opportunity to study in English with the international students.
The following universities also participate in the consortium implementing the programme (apart from the Institute of Public Health): EHESP School of Public Health (France), University of Sheffield’s School of Health and Related Research (the United Kingdom), University of Granada (Spain), University of Rennes (France), Maastricht University (the Netherlands), University College Dublin’s School of Public Health (Ireland), University of Liège (Belgium). The EUROPUBHEALTH+ graduates receive a double diploma consisting of two national official diplomas issued by the universities in which they have studied for a total of two years. The studying can be done optionally in three languages, including English, Spanish and French.
Since 2006, the programme has been recognized by the European Commission as a “Master of Excellence”, while since 2018 it has been recognized also as the best public health education programme, receiving the first ASPHER Deans’ & Directors’ Good Practice Award from the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER). Scientific and Managerial Coordinator of the project in Krakow is Prof. Christoph Sowada, the Organizational Coordinator is Ms. Anna Szetela, and the MPH Theses and Practical Placements Coordinator is Dr. Tomasz Bochenek. Many employees of the Institute of Public Health are intensely involved in all teaching activities.
